Gigi

The Thoughtful One

Gigi is elegance wrapped in intelligence.

When I traveled to Idaho in 2023, the plan was to come home with one female. Then I met Gigi. She quietly and completely captured my heart, and somehow I came home with two. She may not demand attention the way some of our other dogs do, but from that first meeting, there was something about her that drew me in—and she has never let go.

From the beginning, I was struck by her beautiful outline, graceful movement, and calm confidence. She quickly earned her championship, but what I admire most isn’t what she accomplishes in the ring. It’s the way she takes in the world and thinks about it.

Gigi is a thinker.

She rarely rushes into anything. She watches, evaluates, and decides for herself how she’d like to proceed. That thoughtful nature can make training a little more challenging at times—not because she is unwilling, but because Gigi wants to understand the game before she decides to play.

Once she does, she’s fully engaged. Scent Work has become a favorite activity and seems particularly well suited to her thoughtful nature. She genuinely enjoys solving the puzzle and using her remarkable nose, making her one of the strongest scent dogs in our home. She also enjoys Fast CAT and quickly earned her BCAT title.

Lure coursing, on the other hand, has never impressed her. Chasing a plastic bag simply isn’t high on Gigi’s list of worthwhile pursuits—and she’s perfectly content letting the other Cirnechi have that particular adventure.

At home, Gigi is sweet, affectionate, and devoted. She’s a little more reserved than some of our other dogs—not shy or unfriendly, simply observant. She doesn’t need to be the center of attention. She prefers to take everything in, decide what she thinks, and then quietly make her way into your lap.

Gigi may not be the dog who demands that you notice her. She’s the one who somehow finds her way into your heart—and stays there.
