Gili

Everyone’s Best Friend

She has never met a stranger.

Gili’s personality is wonderfully silly. She loves sleeping upside down with all four feet in the air, flashes her trademark “smile” and keeps us laughing with her playful antics. Life is simply more fun when Gili is around. But beneath all that silliness is a talented athlete. Gili became our first Cirneco Field Champion and has earned multiple Best in Field wins in lure coursing.

Occasionally, she’ll decide that greeting the judges or investigating something interesting in the grass sounds more exciting than finishing a run—but whatever she’s doing, she’s usually having the time of her life. She’s also a quick learner with tremendous natural athletic ability. Early agility training showed real promise, and although scheduling kept us from continuing, it remains a sport I think she would love.

Gili has earned titles in Barn Hunt, Canine Good Citizen, and Trick Dog as well, sometimes seeming to learn simply by watching the other dogs train. She’s always paying attention—even when she isn’t the dog I’m actually working with. She is also the easiest traveler in our family. Gili simply goes along with whatever we’re doing, happily adapting to new places, meeting new people, and making herself at home wherever she goes.

Gili reminds us every day that life is better when it’s lived with enthusiasm, laughter, and a generous supply of kisses.

If joy could take the form of a dog, it would be Gili.

Gili came home from Idaho with her littermate sister, Gigi, in 2023—and from the beginning, it was impossible not to be swept up in her enthusiasm for life.

She approaches every day with enthusiasm, every person as a potential new best friend, and every visitor as someone deserving of kisses. To know Gili is to be greeted with a wagging tail, a smiling face, and an endless supply of affection.
