Pace

The Little Firecracker

Imported directly from Sicily, Pace brings us closer to the breed’s homeland than we ever imagined possible.

She is an energetic, fearless young female whose enthusiasm for life is matched only by her love of coursing.

We are incredibly grateful to the distinguished Sicilian breeder Giuseppe Palozza of Vignazzi for entrusting us with this special girl and allowing her to become part of our Charisma family. Pace keeps us laughing and constantly on our toes. She is curious, spirited, and full of personality. While she can be shy and cautious when meeting new people, give her a little time and she will happily trade her worries for kisses, affection, and a spot in your lap.

The lure coursing field, however, reveals another side of Pace entirely… There, she is fearless.

The moment the lure moves, any hesitation disappears, replaced by focus, speed, and determination. She has no concerns about running beside larger or more experienced hounds. Pace was quite simply born to run and hunt, and watching her on the field is watching ancient instinct come alive.

At just 17 months old, with very limited competition experience, Pace completed the requirements for her Field Championship and qualified for the ASFA International Invitational, where she went on to capture Best in Event. She has earned multiple Best in Field wins despite limited opportunities to compete, demonstrating the instinct, athleticism, and courage that define her.

That same hunting instinct doesn’t disappear when the coursing jacket comes off. No small backyard creature is safe when Pace is on patrol. We are still convincing her that Barn Hunt and Scent Work may also be worthy uses of her talents. Pace has opinions about such things—and we love her for them.

At home, the little firecracker becomes an enthusiastic cuddler. She loves being close to her people, preferably burrowed beneath the blankets—assuming she hasn’t already rearranged them into a pile on the floor.

Pace is ancient instinct wrapped in a small, affectionate, thoroughly opinionated package—a little piece of Sicily who reminds us every day where this remarkable breed came from.
